Polymer ligating clips have a wide range of applications, some of which we have described in previous articles.Today, we introduce the advantages and disadvantages of the polymer ligation clips.

Advantages:    

(1) It is an inert non-absorbable multi-polymer material with no tissue rejection reaction;

(2) hinge and safety lock structure to prevent the slip of the ligating clips;

(3) The design of the bow-shape can effectively improve the ligation extension, increase the ligation range, and prevent the blood vessels from being cut and damaged by uniform clamping force;

(4)The anti-slip teeth of the inner layer of the ligation clip avoid the ligating clip sliding in other directions.

Disadvantages:

(1) The ligating clip is small in volume and limited in length, and must be fully stripped of renal vascular tissues to avoid tissue covering the locking buckle that cannot be clamped;

(2) The renal artery and vein cannot be treated at the same time, and the operation time is relatively long;

(3) The perivascular tissues need to be fully cleaned during the operation, and the tissue damage is relatively large;
